Kace Tackles His Past Experiences On “Temporality” [Album Review]
Repping the DMV area, Kace is not just a recording artist, he’s a vessel whose voice speaks volumes. He has created a lane for himself, and has been building his brand for a number of years with various music releases. He looks to take things to a new level with his sophomore album, “Temporality”.
“Temporality” is the follow up Kace’s 2018 debut album, “Polar Opposition”, and it taps into various stages of his life, and the various emotions and experiences in them. The album features 12 tracks, that showcases sample-based and trap production.
On the opening track “A Beautiful Existence”, listeners are greeted by soulful notes, strings, and snaps before Kace shares that “life is so beautiful…until it’s not!” A song about being done dirty by those we trusted in all sectors, but Kace is here to hopefully save the day instead of contributing to the negativity. On the follow up “Isolation”, he shares about dealing with depression and distancing himself, and he also reflects on his younger days where he knew he was different from everyone else. On “Cynical”, he looks into his trust issues, and some of the past situations that caused him to have them. Having been dealt an unfair hand, he tackles dealing with Women on “Trinity” where things would start off good despite his doubts and past experiences, but it would then go left, and he’s on to the next one. His Women troubles continue on “All Fair” Listeners would quickly relate to them themes so far on “Temporality”, and Kace is letting it out.
Stepping out of his experiences to flex a little, he gets lyrical on “Kaizen”, showing another side to his artistry. On the title track however, he gives us a timeline from his birth to present, and some of the situations that have happened throughout that has him believing he lives in a nightmare. He shares his brokenness on the “Missing” interlude, and it continues into “Peace” before making a dedication to his friend Chris on “Once Again”. He closes off the album with “Success (Best Revenge)” and “IINTRO”, bringing him to looking back at his experiences, accepting them, and aiming to move forward for the better.
Kace takes listeners on a ride with “Temporality”. With relatable themes and lyrics over solid production, listeners tune in to a man who has dealt with a lot in his life, and uses the music as a form of therapy. At the end of the day, he’s just trying to be great, and connect with the people in a different way. He takes it one day at a time.
